Alexandre Ajami is an Intellectual Property lawyer and Partner in the Montréal office of Miller Thomson. His main area of practice is intellectual property, with a focus on trade-marks, copyright and licensing. He has assisted clients in a variety of industries including the franchising industry, the computer industry, the cultural sector, as well as manufacturers and entertainment businesses. He has developed a particular expertise in the Agriculture and Food Production sector as he represents many companies working in this industry.

He has extensive experience in assisting clients to acquire, protect, licence, exploit and enforce intellectual property rights. Alexandre Ajami’s practice includes trade-mark opposition proceedings and expungement proceedings, as well as negotiating and drafting trade-mark, copyright, technology and software licenses.

As a registered trade-mark agent, Mr. Ajami has experience in obtaining trade-mark protection in Canada as well as working with foreign firms around the world in securing such protection, including in the United States and Europe.

Mr. Ajami’s practice also includes intellectual property dispute resolution, unfair competition, access to information, judicial review and administrative law litigation before various courts, including all judicial courts in the Province of Québec, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Competition Tribunal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
