After a successful 2021 event , the bar is high, and I can only hope to strengthen our mission by:
increasing intellectual property (IP) awareness amongst members of the Canadian innovation ecosystem (entrepreneurs, companies, researchers, investors, incubators, and accelerators); and
to provide a venue, an ecosystem or community, where IP knowledge and strategies can easily be exchanged so as to foster a stronger innovative, competitive and productive community within a global marketplace.
Since FORPIQ’s founding over twenty years ago, and strongly supported by its partner and member network, FORPIQ has not only accomplished its mission, but has nurtured new relationships with government agencies, including the Business Development Bank of Canada, North American technology transfer association (AUTM) and became ad hoc members of World Intellectual Property Office’s (WIPO’s) standing committees on law of trademarks and patents, amongst others. Through our organization, FORPIQ seeks to further engage with Canada’s innovation ecosystem to provide assistance and guidance on IP, as well as to be aware of the challenges innovators face.
