Biography

Véronique Bougie is Project and IP strategy manager & Business Development at Univalor. As such, she is responsible for managing intellectual property (IP) files, contributes to assessing technology transfer possibilities and develops commercialization strategies. Moreover, she is also involved in reviewing contracts and in negotiating commercial agreements. She is also routinely invited as a guest speaker to raise awareness on IP issues as well as on technology transfer to Université de Montréal’s researchers and students.

Her academic background includes studies in Microbiology and Immunology. She holds a Masters Degree in Virology from the INRS-Institut Armand-Frappier. She then obtained a specialty in technology valuation from Réseau Interval. She has also taken a variety of IP training sessions, offered by the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO), McGill University and Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC). Her skills in commercialization of IP have been duly recognized by the CLP program (Certified Licensing Professional), a program developed by the Licensing Executive Society (LES).
